Marie Curie actions
http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/mariecurieactions/home_en.html aim at strengthening the human potential in R&D in Europe, stimulating people to enter into the profession of researcher, encouraging researchers to stay in Europe as well as attracting researchers from around the world to Europe. Marie Curie actions are open to all domains of researc), to researchers of all ages and levels of experience, and regardless of nationality in most cases. Actions cover funding schemes for both networks and individual fellowships.
Marie Curie Initial Training Networks (ITN) Call identifier: FP7-PEOPLE-2012-ITN Three implementation modes:
1) ITN (multi-partner international networks)
- Aims at improving career perspectives of early-stage researchers
(typically PhD students) by equipping them with a broad set of skills matching both private and public sector needs
2) EID (European Industrial Doctorates); two beneficiaries
- Joint supervision of the PhD students by the academic/private
partner
3) IDP (Innovative Doctoral programmes); single academic institution
as beneficiary, private sector involvement expected via associated partners
- Equipping PhD students with innovative skills
Active involvement of the private sector (commercial enterprises) in the research training programme is essential in all implementation modes!

Funding
- Competitive salary and mobility allowance for fellows
- Research and training costs (flat rate EUR 1800/1200 per researcher month)
- Management costs and overhead for hosting organisation
Marie Curie International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES) Call identifier: FP7-PEOPLE-2012-IRSES
- Aims at establishing/strengthening partnerships between research organisations within EU Member States/Associated Countries and organisations in countries covered by the European Neighbourhood Policy and countries with S&T Agreements with the EU, through short period staff exchanges and networking activities
Funding
- Fixed amount of EUR 1900/seconded researcher/month for each member
of staff from MS/AC staying in an eligible third country partner organisation
- Additional monthly long distance allowance of EUR 200 per
exchanged staff member is paid to cover higher travel costs to certain countries

- Single beneficiary a public/private body responsible for funding
and managing transnational fellowship programs
- Aims at increasing the European-wide mobility possibilities for
training and career development of experienced researchers
Funding
- EU co-funding of 40% of the full transnational fellowship costs of eligible researchers
- Management costs and overhead
Call opens & deadline 19 October 2012, deadline 15 February 2012 at 17:00, Brussels local time
Career Integration Grants (CIG)
Call identifier: FP7-PEOPLE-2012-CIG
- Designed to provide researchers who have been offered a stable
position in Europe with their own research budget
- Aims at supporting experienced researchers in attaining lasting
professional integration in the ERA, e.g. after a mobility period
Call opens & deadlines 20 October 2012, deadlines 6 March and 18 September 2012 at 17:00, Brussels local time
Funding
- A flat rate contribution of EUR 25 000/year for 2 - 4 years; managed by the host organisation
- Flexible use of funds: contribution to salaries (researcher, assistant, technician), travel costs, consumables, patent and publication costs, management activities, overheads
